African Program Staff


President
The chapter presidents plan and run the EWB UVIC meetings. They are the chapter’s liaisons with the national office. They produce monthly reports to the national office and are responsible for circulating any information received from them. They have the final say on major plans and financial decisions including selecting UVIC’s overseas volunteer(s). The presidents maintain links to other organizations, NGOs and the Dean of Engineering. The presidents serve as advisors to the executive team and support all EWB members.

VP Outreach
The VP Outreach plans all EWB outreach events on campus and around the city. They identify key education and outreach campaigns. They also create a strategy for making EWB known on UVIC campus. This involves working with other groups on campus that promote similar causes to EWB. The VP Outreach also run the Overseas Volunteer (OV) recruitment.

VP School Outreach
In charge of the program for educating school-age kids about international problems like worls access to water. The VP coordinates presentations in the schools and organizes volunteers.

VP Finance
The VP Finance communicates with the National Office on our chapter's financial matters. They produce a monthly financial report for the chapter presidents and the National Office. This VP advises the chapter on financial matters and approves all spending in conjunction with the presidents. They have signing authority and are responsible for depositing all monies, keeping the bank book up to date and doing on-line banking.

VP Fundraising
This VP is responsible for identifying strategies for raising the targetted funds. They are involved in planning and over-seeing all fundraising events. These events include EWB awareness events, such as our Annual Wine and Cheese event, along with fun money makers, such as Pub Nights. They are also responsible for holding events that are within EWB's values and engaging the involvement of their chapter to make the event a success.

VP Advertising
Any posters about EWB events from our chapter are designed and made by our VP advertising.

VP Member Education (Learning)
This position involves further education members and non-members about development topics. VP Member Education is responsible for organizing(or helping someone else organize) workshops, speaker sessions, presentations and much more! Returned Junior Fellow
The Junior Fellow brings back the knowledge that they have built up during their time overseas to inspire the Chapter to see the ways that we can drive positive change in developing nations through our actions.

African Program Staff
EWB’s African Program Staff (APS) are a group of exceptional people who have both a passion for creating change with the rural poor in Africa and incredible talent for thinking about development and determining how to make progress on some of the globe’s most intractable problems. They use their skills to help change the way human development is approached, both as an individual and as a part of a movement committed to making poverty history.
